1. Who is FRIDA e.V. and what is our mindset?
FRIDA e.V. is a Open Insurance Initiative with the aim standardized interfaces (APIs) for insurers, third-party providers and end customers — inspired by the open banking principle, but specifically for the insurance market.
We rely on Collaboration, transparency, and innovation — and follow one Nonprofit ideas.
Our solutions complement existing standards such as BiPRO or GDV, but are Openly thought: Insurers, third-party providers and customers should benefit equally.
Our goal:
Digital, efficient and interoperable solutions that are established across the industry — developed with strong partners, for real customer benefits.
2. How does FRIDA work?
Our work is carried out in small, agile use case groups with max. 10 people. These groups meet every two weeks for 45 minutesto focus on the next steps.

Is there comprehensive exchange?
Yes — in a two-week all-hands meeting (30 min), we provide information about current developments/innovations, welcome new members and enable open dialogue.
3. How much time should you plan?
Set aside around 30-45 minutes per week. This is enough to actively participate and create real added value in the use cases.

- 5,000€ per year
- 500€ per year for startups
8. Difference between membership and cooperation?
What does membership mean?
- Members hold formal voting rights in accordance with association law.
- As an initiative, we rely on the active engagement of our members, for example, within our Use Case groups.
- Our members are usually insurance companies.
What does partnership mean?
- Cooperation partners include tech companies, consultancies and startups.
- We also place high value on active participation and engagement from our partners.
Why this distinction?
